Dynamics 365 FSCM:
The most important new features in Release Wave 2

Dynamics 365 FSCM:
The most important new features in Release Wave 2
(September 2025)

September 2, 2025

With the new release 10.0.45 for Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management (FSCM), Microsoft is once again introducing numerous improvements that are particularly exciting for medium-sized companies. We have summarized our highlights for you – explained in an understandable way and with a focus on the specific benefits for your company.

Finance: Greater transparency, better control

1. New invoice log (preview)

The new Customer Invoice Logging Framework logs the entire lifecycle of sales and free-text invoices. Errors can be identified and corrected more quickly – directly in the Customer Invoice Workspace.
Your advantage: fewer “black box” postings, better traceability for audits, and faster error diagnosis.

 2. Improvements in the asset leasing module

  • New workflow for depreciation with its own page and clear process management.
  • Mandatory descriptions in the leasing journal – postings without text are no longer possible.
  • Automatic postings upon contract termination: When a leasing contract is terminated, the associated assets are automatically adjusted.

Your advantage: Stronger governance, less manual rework, and cleaner posting paths.

3.  Automatic vendor matching

Payment proposals now automatically use the IBAN and bank account from the vendor master – this saves time when reconciling bank accounts.
Your advantage: Faster payment processing and fewer manual corrections.

Supply Chain Management: Plan, check, and store more efficiently

1. Quality Management: Random sampling (preview)

With the new “Acceptance Sampling” feature, you can perform random sampling checks. These checks evaluate a batch of products based on a representative sample. The feature can be activated via Feature Management.
Your advantage: Less effort in quality control without compromising on safety.

2. Lean manufacturing in demand planning (preview)

Lean processes can now be mapped directly in Planning Optimization – without the need for classic MRP batches.
Your advantage: Faster, leaner planning – ideal for agile production environments.

3. Improved message processing

Processed or aborted messages are now automatically cleaned up—without any manual intervention.
Your advantage: Less data garbage, more stable processes.

4. MES integration: Label & LP generation

For integrated MES systems, there are now automatic storage location labels and LP numbers – directly from production.
Your advantage: Better traceability and seamless integration into the shop floor.

5. Warehouse logistics: New mobile app & packing data

The new Warehouse App V4 replaces the previous version – faster, more modern, locally installable. Container packing data can now be recorded and viewed directly. Important: Support for version 3 will end in May 2026. Customers should take care of the changeover in good time.
Your advantage: More efficient warehouse processes, less technical legacy issues, and greater transparency during packaging.

Conclusion: Greater efficiency, better control, less effort

The new release will be officially rolled out on September 12, 2025, and brings many small but effective improvements to Microsoft Dynamics 365 FSCM. Whether in financial accounting, leasing, or production, the new features will help you streamline processes, avoid errors, and future-proof your IT landscape.
