Implementation of a scalable ERP platform based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 FSCM) for all member companies.
With over 5,000 employees, Service-Bund is one of Germany’s largest foodservice networks. More than 30 independent member companies supply the restaurant, hotel, and institutional catering sectors, ranging from regional family-run businesses to complex logistics hubs. The structure is diverse, regionally focused, and has evolved over time.

Many member companies still use Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009. Others rely on third-party systems. This resulted in heterogeneous processes, isolated data sets, and a high level of manual effort. Establishing a modern, shared foundation for efficient collaboration was challenging.
Together with Sycor and the IT service provider and subsidiary of Service-Bund, Computer-Centrum Nord, the comprehensive digital transformation began in 2019. The goal is a unified, scalable ERP platform based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (D365 FSCM) that harmonizes processes and significantly improves organization-wide data exchange. The focus is on the entire SCM process chain, including order entry and logistics processes.
From the outset, Sycor adopted a partnership-based approach. Implementation, further development, training, and managed services were closely integrated to bring the member companies’ varying starting points up to a common standard.
First, a central data platform was created, through which both Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and Dynamics 365 users could access a consistent master data set. At the same time, processes were standardized, technical discrepancies were reduced, and key third-party systems—including warehouse management, Sycor.BankImport, and Lasernet—were seamlessly integrated.
Peter Orthmann, Managing Director of Computer-Centrum Nord, describes the transformation as follows: “Sycor quickly understood just how diverse our corporate landscape is. It is precisely this diversity that makes the project challenging, yet it also demonstrates how valuable a modern, shared foundation is.” Timo Schmidt, Project Manager at Sycor, also emphasizes: “With Microsoft Dynamics 365, we are creating a platform that guarantees stability and consistency without limiting the strengths of the individual companies.”—Bund, describes the transformation as follows:
Several regional headquarters are already working successfully with the new system, and more will follow. The project is having an impact not only technologically but also organizationally: processes are becoming more stable and efficient, and decisions are being made faster and with greater certainty thanks to consistent data. The quality of communication between headquarters and members is improving significantly.
Today, Service-Bund benefits from a modern, unified ERP platform that simplifies and accelerates processes. The central database reduces duplicate data entry, ensures consistently reliable information, and facilitates organization-wide collaboration. Rollouts and updates can be carried out more efficiently, while scalability and transparency increase. Data exchange between headquarters and regional offices is significantly improved. Decisions can be made faster and operational tasks handled more efficiently.
As a result, Service-Bund is gradually evolving into a networked, future-oriented corporate group.

“Sycor quickly understood just how diverse our corporate landscape is. It is precisely this diversity that makes the project challenging, yet it also demonstrates how valuable a modern, shared foundation is.”
