Donations instead of gifts

This year, SYCOR GmbH is continuing its Christmas donation campaign and is thus fulfilling its social responsibility. “We give IT a face” is our claim – but it also means getting involved for others – showing your face. We are therefore donating a total of €5,000 to two social and non-profit organizations.

The special thing about our Christmas campaign is that our employees made suggestions for how to use the funds and two organizations were selected.

SOS Kinderdörfer e.V. and the Sternenlichter gGmbH children's and youth hospice in Göttingen can look forward to a donation of €2,500 each.

“Supporting children and families is very important to us. That’s why we chose these two organizations from the many good and sensible suggestions submitted,” says Thomas Ahlers, CEO of Sycor GmbH. “Through our selection, we are supporting a project in Sycor’s hometown with the Hospice "Sternenlichter" and, with the SOS Children’s Villages, we are taking our German and global orientation into account.”

IIn spring 2025, the Sternenlichter children's and youth hospice will open in Göttingen, a center for children and young people with life-shortening illnesses and their families - under the motto "Life support instead of end-of-life care". The children and young people who find their way to the Starlight Hospice should gain strength, feel in good hands and let the life-shortening illness take a back seat.

On behalf of the entire workforce, Anja Werner and Jochen Weigenand from Marketing at SYCOR GmbH handed over the symbolic donation check to Maren Iben from the children's and youth hospice in November 2024 and found out about the facility and construction progress.

SOS-Kinderdorf e.V.

For over 60 years, SOS Children's Villages has made it its mission to give children a safe home. The politically and religiously independent social organization is committed in a variety of ways to giving young people a good start in life. The association is a recognized provider of independent child and youth welfare in Germany and a member of the German Parity Welfare Association (DPWV). In addition, SOS Children's Villages e.V., as a member of the umbrella organization SOS Children's Villages International, supports the SOS commitment worldwide and actively shapes it.
