In cooperation with the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the SüdniedersachsenStiftung (South Lower Saxony Foundation) has once again recognized 24 companies as TOP employers in the region. Sycor receives the award for the fourth time as a result - as one of the 14 companies that have been part of the TOPAS network since its inception.
In addition to the awards as Focus Top Employer Medium-Sized Businesses 2022 and as Best IT Service Provider 2022 at the end of last year, this is already the third award that fills us with pride.
In an audit at the end of 2021 for TOPAS certification, Sycor once again demonstrated its high quality in employer branding. In addition, the diverse measures in the area of human resources and personnel management that Sycor has developed and implemented in order to achieve the individually set goals for strategic employer branding were presented.
"We are constantly working on the further development of our employer brand," said Petra Gerweck, HR Manager, "and are pleased to have received the TOPAS award again this year - we benefit from this in recruiting and in the external presentation of our company."
The TOPAS seal is awarded for a period of two years and is awarded through certification by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the SüdniedersachsenStiftung. A total of 24 companies have currently been awarded the seal. With the seal of approval, the cooperation pursues the goal of making the region of southern Lower Saxony as a whole interesting for skilled workers.

For the work on the employer brand, the TOPAS network is also a valuable source of ideas and always offers space for exchange on new developments. Even though the companies are made up of very different types - from medical practices to listed companies - they all suffer together from the shortage of skilled workers and, with their involvement in the TOPAS network, help to make the region as a whole a better place to live. And that's exactly where Sycor sees itself confirmed. "In addition to an intact and modern corporate culture, an attractive region is needed to retain or recruit new skilled workers," says Petra Gerweck.
Corporate culture and employer brand have always been of great importance to Sycor, so participation was already a logical step at the start of the TOPAS network in 2013. Since then, employer branding has not only been firmly anchored in the HR strategy, but has also been sustainably pursued and continuously developed.
In the last audit in 2021, Sycor was able to score points with several measures that were implemented in the new certification period. For example, in addition to a transparent remuneration model, a new program was introduced that managers and high potentials must complete. Surveys were launched on the subject of "mobile working", which will play a role both during and after the Corona pandemic. A culture analysis was carried out, the results of which are currently being worked on in the area of communication and employer brand.
Even in Corona times, online events such as the Summer School or programming competitions continued to take place as part of a marketing project of our trainees.
"We are currently working on our employer brand and will continue to do so in the future in order to strengthen our corporate culture and offer our employees a modern working environment in which they feel comfortable and can develop further," Petra Gerweck concludes.
