Together on the path to digital excellence
Icotec is a leading company in the medical technology industry that specialises in the development and production of innovative, high-strength implants made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic. These high-tech implants are essential for the surgical treatment of tumour diseases of the spine and represent a significant advance in patient care.
The objective was to replace the existing systems with an integrated, scalable ERP system validated in accordance with GMP requirements.
The complexity of production planning, purchasing, sales and financial management required comprehensive support, both at a process and technical level. An important focus was on replacing the previous financial system and integrating a financial accounting system.
Ensuring reliable live operation of the ERP system was a top priority in order to support the company's critical business processes.
Our team at Sycor rose to these challenges and implemented a customised solution.
In addition to the standardised implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, a particular focus was placed on the production, quality assurance and warehouse processes. As part of the warehouse processes, the goods are packaged and labelled in accordance with the CE marking requirements for medical products. The label designs were initially maintained directly in Dynamics AX 2012. Due to the increasing number of different labels, the NiceLabel software was introduced as part of customer service.
The documentation of the GMP (Goods Manufacturing Practice) relevant processes for the validation of the ERP system was significantly supported by Sycor. Strict and complete documentation of the processes to be validated, including the associated requirements, functional specifications and test cases.
In the later course of the project, the US company was added in addition to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, whereby multinational and intercompany processes were mapped in an ERP system.
We provided Managed Service for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and implemented additional customisations for AX to optimise icotec's core processes. Our support spanned all levels of the ERP system to ensure seamless integration and trouble-free operation.
The project was characterised by a direct and very open exchange between icotec and Sycor. This fostered a strong ‘we-feeling’ that went beyond the usual customer-service provider relationship. The close collaboration and shared commitment to success were the key components that made this project a highlight of our work.
