Sycor helps in the decision-making process: which CRM system will the company rely on in the future?
The Life Sciences CRM market has seen significant developments recently, driven by the activities of Veeva, IQVIA, and Salesforce. Veeva Systems is moving its CRM from the Salesforce platform to its own Veeva Vault platform. Vault CRM is generally available and has multiple customers live already. Customers will begin their migrations from Veeva CRM to Vault CRM in late 2024 and 2025. All transitions must be completed by September 2030.
At the same time, Salesforce has announced the launch of its own LifeSciences CRM Solution "Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud". Salesforce has partnered with IQVIA to accelerate the development of their new product. The new product, which is expected to be available in autumn 2025, uses parts of IQVIA OCE's codebase. IQVIA will discontinue OCE in 2029.
Yes, a migration is necessary as the existing Veeva CRM will no longer be operated from September 2030 onwards. For all Veeva CRM customers, moving to Veeva Vault CRM ensures Veeva CRM's full functionality on an enhanced, future-proof Vault platform.
Existing OCE-P orgs are available until September 1, 2029. An extension is not possible.
OCE-P is currently in stability mode. In stability mode, OCE-P releases still contain fixes for significant bugs, compliance requirements, platform compatibility and security updates. All future innovations will be found in the Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement, Salesforce's next generation CRM.
In addition to migrating to Vault CRM or the Salesforce solution, switching to another system may also be an option. There are a number of other systems that can be a possible option in different business contexts.
To do this, the existing CRM landscape must first be analyzed. You should engage with your Veeva team, who are providing an assessment of your current environment. In addition, consider the following:
Veeva recommends migrating to Vault CRM and then optimizing post-processing. If you follow this approach, the migration is straightforward and does not add complexity or time. Veeva has developed tools to simplify and speed up the migration process. Similarly, Salesforce has announced that migration paths and tools will be available from both Veeva CRM and IQVIA OCE.
The benefits of early migration include: New features and integration options, backlog reduction, and early adoption of innovations allow you to focus on the future.
No matter where your company currently stands, we can offer you support in each of the phases and questions presented.
