sfm medical devices GmbH replaced its CRM system in the course of converting to a new ERP system from SAP. The goal of the new implementation was to ensure smooth communication between the two systems via an interface, and to guarantee data security. No sooner said than done, sfm's employees were using their new SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) after a project term of two and a half months.
sfm medical devices GmbH is the leading partner for the development, production, and refining of high-end medical single-use products and pharmaceutical applicators. In the course of the new SAP ERP implementation carried out by Sycor at the parent company in Wächtersbach, Hesse and the subsidiary production company SaFeMed in Prague, the current CRM solution also had to be replaced by a new one linked to the ERP system. Central data management and authorized access anywhere and anytime was especially important for the marketing and sales experts at sfm. The system also had to map the sales funnel, with powerful sales controlling and reporting functions.
"Our standards for the new CRM system were high. It had to include all modern possibilities and offer security for the future. Smooth data integration into our ERP system was also especially important to us, and going live without interrupting business operations," is how Albert Busch, Head of Marketing at sfm, explains the initial situation. SAP Cloud for Customer was quickly chosen. This system offers intuitive functionality for the recording and qualification of leads and opportunities, enables the efficient maintenance of existing customers, and includes powerful offer preparation and monitoring functionality. Additional benefits of SAP C4C include legal certainty in data storage and the web-based interface, making it possible for sales representatives to use the system anytime, anywhere.
sfm's management found the functionality of SAP C4C and Sycor's services for the ERP introduction convincing. Thus the Sycor experts started implementing the project in June of 2015. They implemented the system especially quickly since they were already familiar with the processes at sfm. Sales representatives, customer service and marketing at sfm were able to work with the new system after a project term of just two months. "We went live without interrupting business operations. There was next to no downtime during the implementation," Busch emphasizes and adds: "Sycor perfectly adjusted for the differences between our business processes and the standard C4C system settings. The system offers ideal functions for a global operation with a real-time interface to the SAP ERP base."
