Sycor grows to more than 700 employees and welcomes new IT talent

650 employees – it was only in February of 2017 that the Sycor Group announced a new record in the company's history. The positive order situation and good reputation as an employer have now allowed the company to hire more than 50 new employees. "We are very happy that we have been able to attract numerous new colleagues in such a short time," says Martin Renker, Director of HR Management for the Sycor Group. "We are especially pleased about our new trainees. This year we are training 16 talented young people to fill internal positions," Renker adds.

Training of new IT talent is taking place across the locations in Germany. Sycor has more than 20 locations around the world, with 14 of them in Germany. Before the up-and-coming IT specialists and IT management assistants go to the respective locations, they are attending various introductory events at the company headquarters in Göttingen. "It is important for us that our new employees get off to a good start and get to know our company values. And of course also the people who work here," emphasizes Managing Director Dr. Marko Weinrich, who is also holding an introductory event himself.

Attractive working conditions

Not only trainees but also all other new employees are personally welcomed by company management. The company has made a good name for itself as an employer both regionally and across Germany. Among other things, Sycor took first place in the Great Place to Work® competition "Best Employers in Lower Saxony-Bremen" in the size class of companies with more than 250 employees. The company has also established itself in the IT market: With total sales of EUR 71.7 million in 2016, Sycor according to a special analysis of the independent market research firm Lünendonk & Hossenfelder is among the top 20 German midsize companies in the IT consulting market. Sycor expects sales for the current financial year to jump to well over EUR 80 million.

Further employee growth and a new location in Göttingen

The search continues: "We are not going to rest on our laurels and will continue to pursue lasting growth," Martin Renker explains. Currently the Sycor Group has about 50 open positions for IT professionals and beginners to fill. The increase in the number of employees means more space is also required at the Göttingen location, where about two thirds of the staff works. Sycor is meeting this challenge with flexible working hour models and plans to move into a new office building at the former freight terminal "Alter Güterbahnhof". The construction firm is GWG Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftsförderung und Stadtentwicklung Göttingen mbH. Construction has already begun and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2018. Sycor as the future main tenant is actively involved in designing the new building. The company headquarters at the Göttinger Bahnhof railway station will be maintained.
