Because: The "S/4HANA Cloud, private edition" announced with "RISE with SAP" not only offers an easier entry into the cloud-based S/4HANA world, but also a solution tailored to medium-sized businesses for the transformation of existing SAP environments.
SAP today (Wednesday) announced, among other things, a new version of its S/4HANA ERP software that makes a move to a cloud environment very attractive. Via the new solution, customer systems previously running on premise can be converted to subscription-based cloud billing without losing the benefits of the functional solution.

The new solution will complement existing SAP offerings and closes the gap between on premise or private cloud offerings and the highly standardized S/4HANA Cloud in the Essentials and Extended versions. It also adds new digitization and networking capabilities with the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).

Through this route, customers can reduce the complexity in their ERP solution as the operation is with a single supplier, while consulting projects and application support can continue to be sourced from a mid-market oriented consultancy that may already know the business processes. Proven partner add-ons can also continue to be used, and existing processes do not have to be adapted.
