Rather than sending its employees gifts last year, Sycor decided to focus on "Doing good together" and donated the money to various charities instead. This year, the company will be donating 10 euros per employee to three different organizations. Employees can give “their donation” to the organization whose purpose is closest to their heart. In the end, Sycor will round the total up to make an overall donation of 10,000 euros.
The three organizations chosen by the Works Council at Sycor's global HQ in Germany have one thing in common: they are concerned with improving or maintaining health. These are the Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger (German Maritime Search and Rescue Association), the Allianz Chronischer Seltener Erkrankungen (Alliance for Chronic Rare Diseases), or ACHSE for short, and, last but not least, the Dachverband Clowns in Medizin und Pflege (Clowns in Medicine and Care).
Sycor wanted to ensure that each of the three organizations would be taken into consideration and thus each received 1.50 euros per employee. Each employee was then able to dedicate the remaining 5.50 euros to their favorite organization via a survey and the rest of the donations were distributed to the organizations on a percentage basis. The donation sum was then rounded up by Sycor to make a total of 10,000 euros. This resulted in the following donations:
German Maritime Search and Rescue Association
Alliance for Chronic Rare Diseases
Clowns in Medicine and Care
Sycor is pleased to be able to make a small contribution to helping people in need. The donations support the important work of the selected organizations to prevent drownings of shipwreck victims in the North and Baltic Seas, to bring a smile to the faces of sick children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, and to improve the lives of those with rare diseases in Germany.
