Sycor donates for the holidays

December 1, 2020

2020 - this year has presented unprecedented challenges for all of us. And those who were already suffering are often hit the hardest. Therefore, Sycor is continuing its annual holiday fundraising campaign - again with the involvement of its employees. This year, donations of 2,500 € (2,963 USD*) each will go to Save the Children and Pacific Garbage Screening in Germany, home of Sycor's global HQ.

Our employees decide where to donate

As in previous years, Sycor has involved its employees in selecting organizations to which the funds will be donated. In this way, they were able to name institutions they would like to support. Among the numerous nominations were many organizations that work to improve the lives of children around the world. On the other hand, the employees were keen to support environmental projects. Thus, Sycor has chosen the following organizations to donate to this year:

Save the Children Germany

Save the Children has been active in humanitarian aid for children for more than 100 years and stands up for their rights worldwide. The association supports families wherever the commitment of governments and civil society is insufficient - often in the poorest regions of the world. There, the threats to children from conflicts, climate change and lack of supplies are particularly great. But the organization also helps in Germany, for example, when state structures are not sufficient. The most important areas of activity of Save the Children are: School & education, survival & health, protection against violence and exploitation, and assistance in humanitarian crises. -> Save the Children Deutschland e.V.

Pacific Garbage Screening

Huge amounts of plastic waste swim on our oceans or float in the water between the sea dwellers. In order to solve the problem of marine waste and to create healthy oceans, the Pacific Garbage Screening association takes a holistic approach. To prevent the garbage from entering the oceans in the first place, platforms collect the plastic before it reaches the sea: at the rivers. The garbage is recycled and turned into energy and other products or substances through mechanical, thermochemical and biotechnological processes. At the same time, the association wants to sensitize the population to environmental issues such as waste of resources and climate change, which is already threatening many habitats. -> Pacific Garbage Screening e.V.

Happy Holidays from Sycor!

Sycor is pleased to be able to make a small contribution again this year to support non-profit organizations in their important work. For Sycor, "We give IT a face" also means giving back to others. In this spirit, we wish you and your loved ones a very happy holiday season and a wonderful new year.
